The Freshman

Harold arrives at college dreaming of becoming the most admired student. He copies his movie hero, throws parties and volunteers for the football team, never noticing that everyone is laughing at him. Only Peggy, his landlady's daughter, likes him for who he is. Everything comes down to the big final game, one of the most famous comic sequences of the silent era.

Piano accompaniment: Frédéric Chopin, recordings by Musopen (public domain).
